Frog - Malachite (Madagascar)

Over the ages, frogs and toads have been associated with liminal spaces. They burrow into the mud and freeze over winter, only to miraculously revive again in the spring.  They are animals of resilience and transformation. Their eggs are laid in water and eventually swim, breathing through gills until they develop lungs as they transition from tadpoles to frogs or toads.  This chonky little frog friend is genuine malachite, so if you do place him in you houseplant as displayed here, take care to keep him dry as malachite contains copper and it should not sit in water for extended periods of time.
